This is my first attempt to blog so my first mistake of many. Why Avoid People in the first place, I hear you ask? 1. To save yourself pain and headache. Will explain later. 2. To save yourself money and pain 3. To save yourself from indignity 4. To save yourself the need to explain 5. Because the world is getting too smart, conniving and we have precious little time for these. 6. Because we are living on borrowed time. We should maximise our time on the things we enjoy and treasure 7. Because we may not know what will happen next. After reading of the bus crash in Slim River on Jan 26 2008, one need to prioritise on important things and get rid of unwanted stuff. How to do these things, I hear you wonder loudly? 1. Know what stuff are important to you now. Eg. Your notebook, your Ipod, your books, your bank balance, your get together every Friday night with your friends, your movies, your pets, your charity projects, your health? 2. Know what you are capable of. Eg. Like the ability to cut to the chase, don’t linger too long on non-essentials in life. Like I don’t spend much time in kopitiam anymore. I tapau whenever I can and drink it in my own solitude and ponder in silence. 3. Know that silence is essential part of your life to gather your thoughts and regain sanity. Find a quiet place and time to do this. I can do this while walking from the carpark to the building. I know I can also do while I queue in the bank (not really wanting to do banking but to sit and observe while I sip my coffee). 4. Know that we have our limits – we cannot do everything on our own. So better to let go stuff we can never achieve or juggle. Don’t feel embarrassed to release this burden from your to do list 5. Know who support you and care for you. Usually we say our family members understand and support us but this may not necessary so when you are in deep trouble and suddenly find yourself lonely. Go find and build your supporting team of confident and honest ppl who can tell you in the face what to do. We do not need weak ppl when we have problems. We need bold and courageous ppl. 6. Know who your enemies are. We all know who gives us the creeps and hair uncurled. So be on guard to protect yourself.
